2019 Point In Time Count

2019 San Francisco Homeless Point-In-Time Count

Every two years the City of San Francisco conducts a HUD-mandated census of the homeless population.  The Point in Time Count methodology has improved over the years and includes a visual assessment of people living unsheltered in San Francisco, a census of all shelter and transitional housing programs, and a survey of people experiencing homelessness.  We combine these sources to produce the Point in Time Count ReportsThe 1-night counts are conducted by Continuums of Care nationwide and occur in late January.  The Point-in-Time Count helps to ensure SF County has access to federal funds that are essential for addressing homelessness and housing instability in our community.  Volunteers are essential to a successful count! We thank you in advance for arriving by 6:45PM and remaining patient as we get all volunteer teams updated, assigned, and checked out.
