Mayor Willie Brown established this office in 1998 and designated MOD as the City’s overall ADA Coordinator. Current staffing is six full time employees, all with extensive experience and knowledge of civil rights laws and architectural access standards including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Housing Act, Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Unruh Civil Rights Act, the Uniform Federal Access Standards (UFAS), and the California Building Code.
