Thank you for your interest in volunteering at San Francisco’s 2022 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count. To reduce COVID-19 risk, San Francisco is limiting participation in this year’s unsheltered Point-in-Time Count to outreach workers and targeted volunteers from City departments and homeless service organizations.
Volunteers will walk or drive routes assigned throughout the City to visually count people experiencing homelessness. You must sign up in teams of two or three people and be available to complete the assigned route from approximately 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. the night of Thursday, January 27, 2022. Registration closed on January 10, 2022.

Please note: City employees who do not work for the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) must adhere to their department’s policy on how to request overtime/compensatory time for volunteer hours related to the Point-in-Time Count. HSH will not provide overtime/compensatory time authorization or approval for non-HSH employees or HSH employees that are not pre-designated to work the night of the Count.
