Programs serving our most vulnerable residents are always in need of new clothes, especially personal hygiene items, new socks and underwear. We encourage you to identify the nonprofit provider that operates the shelter in your neighborhood on the SF Service Guide and donate there. Share your donation on social media and encourage your network to contribute, too.
You can also support the work of HSH by donating to the Mayor’s Fund for the Homeless.
- The Mayor’s Fund for the Homeless (MFH) uses private donations to provide food, shelter, housing and other services to people at-risk of or experiencing homelessness.
- These funds help improve outcomes for individuals in all forms of HSH sponsored housing including shelters, transitional and supportive housing. These funds may also be used to help support clients who are exiting the Navigation Center.
- The MFH enables HSH to more actively fundraise and to engage with community members who are interested in supporting our efforts.
You can donate online by visiting www.give2sf.org and selecting the Mayor’s Fund for the Homeless.
The MFH fund is used for the purpose of providing food, shelter, housing, and other services to people at-risk of or experiencing homelessness. Funds that are donated for a specific project for the homeless are used only for that project. The target population includes the homeless or marginally housed, very low-income residents of San Francisco. There is also funding for programs and initiatives that seek to serve this population and help them to either exit homelessness or prevent homelessness from occurring, including immediate financial support to stabilize their housing situation.
