Data Sharing and Privacy

The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing is a participant in the DataSF Initiative. Our vision is to achieve efficient, effective, consistent, secure and appropriate data sharing across City and County of San Francisco agencies and offices, as well as with key partner agencies. We seek to share confidential data, while appropriately protecting it, to coordinate care and services and to facilitate program planning and evaluation and research with impacts on practice and policymaking.

As part of this effort, the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing follows Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable privacy laws.
