Property at 1979 Mission Street
The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) is seeking to temporarily use the property at 1979 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94103 (Walgreens Parking Lot) as a non-congregate cabin community with approximately 60 units for adults experiencing homelessness. The proposed use is intended to be temporary until the pending affordable housing development is ready to break ground.1979 Mission Street was selected for temporary use based on its location, and size.

Property at 685 Ellis Street
The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) is proposing to convert the property at 685 Ellis Street to permanent supportive housing for adults experiencing homelessness. 685 Ellis Street has an elevator, generous lobby, community lounge, commercial kitchen, vacant bar/restaurant area, office space, laundry room, space for support services and 74 units of permanent supportive housing.

*Update: The Twenty-Seventh Supplement to Mayoral Proclamation declaring the existence of a local emergency, dated February 25, 2020, suspends the requirements under Chapter 79 and Chapter 79A of the Administrative Code for projects that have been approved or will be approved during the local emergency as part of the City’s COVID-19 response. This Order shall remain in effect during the local emergency unless terminated earlier by the Mayor or the Board of Supervisors.
