6. Housing Ladder

The Housing Ladder offers opportunities for residents of Permanent Supportive Housing or Rapid Rehousing to move outside of the Homelessness Response System- making their unit available for other people experiencing homelessness

The Moving On Initiative (from Tipping Point’s Chronic Homeless Initiative) is part of the Housing Ladder to a more permanent housing solution. The program was launched in December 2016 as a collaboration among HSH, The San Francisco Housing Authority, and one of our non-profit partners- Brilliant Corners. The purpose of the program is to help people transition from Permanent Supportive Housing with all accompanying programs, into market-rate rental housing. In a nutshell, the MOI works by having HSH screen applicants, SFHA then grants vouchers to those deemed qualified, and finally Brilliant Corners helps them find compatible homes.
